HOLA FAMILIA. SEMANA DOS

WOW WHAT A WEEK

First off HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to my incredible dad and uncles and grandpa!!!!! You guys are the best. Thank you for your example to me and for teaching me so much and loving and supporting me!!! Love you guys so much

Crazy stuff going on over here at the CCM (MTC in espanol). I'm loving it so much!!
There is always so much to share with you, so here we goooo!

My district is AWESOME. We are all bonding super well! The elders are coming out of their shells and they are all super funny! Some times when we are just in our classroom studying we will get distracted and just start talking and laughing and then realize we need to stay focused. Haha it's a good time.

ALSO so our investigator we were teaching last week, Crisia, WELL she turned out to be OUR TEACHER!!!! so now we have two! She is literally THE BEST. I love her so much. She is super happy and cute and makes class super fun! She loves to talk to us and get to know us and be our friend! It's the best. We laugh a ton with her!

Now we have 2 investigators! One is our first teacher hahaha (Hermano Truman) and the other is a TRC, which means she he a person who comes in and volunteer to listen to us. Sometimes they are members that live near the MTC and sometimes they are REAL investigators! We don't know! It's actually super scary hahaha We teach her tomorrow!

Funny Quotes/ moments:

1. Hermana Jennings was quizzing me last week:
H'J "okay what is Monday?"
Me "Lunes"
H'J "okay Tuesday"
Me "muerte"

I meant to say Martes ( which is tuesday) but I said muerte which means "death" hahahah so apparently Tuesday is death hahaha we always joke about that now

2. Elder Turnbow is fasinated by my "Holy Tabbs" set (Thanks mom I'm loving it!) -its just basically a scripture marking tool- and he really wants something like it
Anyway so as he was leaving the classroom later he looks at my and says "I figured out how I'm going to mark my scriptures!" (because he didn't want to buy the full set)
and then Elder Price says "with a pen?"
hahahhahahah I laughed so hard

3. It is 3:45 pm and we were talking about when we all wanted to go to dinner, some were saying we should go around 4 (so we can get to Chior practice)
Elder Turnbow says "I'm not going to lunch for another 45 minutes"
Elder Price then says "I went to lunch 3 hours ago"
hahahhahaha it was so funny, we knew he meant dinner but he said lunch

4. I MET MY COUSIN. Well sort of hahaha
There is an Elder and his name is Elder Dayley hahahahha He is speaking spanish and going to Ecuador Quito mission!! ALSO when he was younger HE LIVED IN HILLSBORO OREGON WOAH. He was home schooled. BUT STILL CRAZY STUFF

ANYWAY sorry if that didn't make sense or wasn't funny hahhah just thought I'd share some funny stuff that happened!

Okay now for some spiritual moments!!!! (these are THE BEST)

1. T3 experience
So at the end of one of our classes, Hermana Christensen (our new teacher, she was Crisia) took us to the other building, T3. In that building along the walls they have HUGE pictures of Christ (like new ones, from the new bible videos) and a bunch of other pictures. So we all walked around and took notes on how we felt and things that stood out to us. We also wrote down Inspiration and Motivation and our Testimony on a piece of paper. When we were all done we came back together and shared our favorite picture and why. It was amazing the spirit was so strong that night. A couple of the Elders were crying!! I cried too haha. But one of my favorite pictures was Christ and a little boy. Now these were not paintings, they were pictures, so It was a real little boy. But anyway it was so powerful because it just reminds me that Christ is not only our brother but our friend. He wants us to tell him how our day went and how we are doing. We need to develop that FRIENDSHIP with Christ as well. How can we become best friends with Christ? Do we really know EVERYTHING about our best friend?

Challenge:
I challenge you all this week to learn something new about Christ, or come closer to him in some way. Make him your BEST friend!!
Try a little harder to be a little better!

IF YOU SKIM THROUGH THIS EMAIL (which is fine hahaha) DON'T SKIM THROUGH THIS EXPERIENCE- IT WAS INCREDIBLE

2. Elder Holland's Devotional

OKAY BE PREPARED. THIS DEVOTIONAL CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER
I GOT TO MEET.... Just kidding I wish hahahaha. But on sunday night we watched a video of Elder Holland's devotional to the missionaries called "Missions are Forever"
I'm not kidding about the changing my life part though! It was all about living in the moment and how our missions are forever.

Here are some huge takeaways from the talk:
1. We are only on our missions for 24 or 18 months DON"T MISS IT
2. Have NO REGRETS
3. Live your mission to the FULLEST
4. we talk a lot about how "when I get home from my mission and go back to real life..." MISSIONS ARE REAL LIFE
5. Our devotion to the Lord and the closeness to the spirit, should not change
6. Keep the FLAME alive throughout the mission and life
7. Remember: if you are feeling homesick just remember that the MTC is not your home but the LORD IS YOUR HOME
8. Make EVERY second count
9. "You need to be the first convert ( even if you are the only convert in your mission)"
10. Get out and ASTONISH someone!!!
11. "Bring thunder to those you teach"
12. It wont be easy because salvation is not easy
13. It wasn't easy for Christ so It won't be easy for us

Just imagine Elder Holland saying all this in his powerful voice!!

And then he also talks about how it is the Lord's message and other great stuff. But I just love all this. It gave me SO MUCH motivation to keep moving and to put my best effort into everything I do!! I only get one chance to serve a mission like this so I need to make the most of every moment! To not wish away the time! It helps remind me of my purpose and focus!
This can apply to all of YOU too!! Don't wish away the moment. I know I always say "ah if I only I was older" or "if only I could be here" or what ever it is. DONT DO THAT
LIVE IN THE NOW. You only get to be this age for so long!!

Live a life where you can look back and say "wow what an awesome life and look at all the awesome things I did" Along with that make sure to live a life the Lord wants you to. So when I say live life to the fullest, I mean a life of goodness and service and love!! Follow Christ's example and live a life Heavenly Father would be proud of you for!!!

Thanks for all your letters and packages!!! I LOVE getting letters throughout the week!! It is the best.

I love you all and I hope you have a fantastic week
Sorry again for the long email, but hey what can I say, I'm at the MTC!!!!!

I'm on the computers for most of the day today so if you have any other questions let me know!

Con Amor

Hermana Daley
