Semana 10!! Downtown DETROIT
Hola
Familia!! Como estan??? I miss you all so much!! I love seeing all the fun
pictures and videos from this week!! You are all so cute and I love you all so
much!
THIS
WEEK WAS WILD. A lot of funny stuff happened so here we go!
So
Monday night we were at the church for FHE and after it was over it was POURING
rain. Like TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR. There was lightening and everything!! LOCO. So
naturally as young missionaries who can't go swimming and who still feel like
children ran out in the parking lot and danced around and played in the rain.
IT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER. I love the rain so much
So,
sad thing. I lost a companion :( Sister Leder went home on wednesday. Her
family has been having a lot of trials and she herself has been having a lot of
health issues. She has been out for about 1 year. President called her and said
he feels that she served her time well and Heavenly Father is pleased with what
she has done! She also received conformation that it was time to go home! So
just like that they booked her a flight and she left!
That
is the 2nd person that went home from my district!! We started out with 7
missionaries now we only have 5!!! RIP the Dearborn District.
On
Tuesday I had my first Church bash!! We started talking to this guy and he was going
off on us. He was telling us how poor he is and how our church should be
financially helping everyone and not just sharing a message. He was really mad.
It was loco. I just smiled and didn't say much. Anyway it was crazy! I did not
like that at all, but all missionaries will experience that right?
Also
that same day I had 3 different people tell me they thought I looked was 14 and
16... (the guy that bashed us said I looked 16) so apparently I still look like
a kid lol
So
Miracle for the week:
We
planned on going to the temple on thursday with Sister Leder but then she
quickly had to leave on Wed, and we asked Sister Cleveland if we could still go
and she said we could go if we get a ride to the temple. We asked a bunch of
people from the ward and no one could! Luckily towards the end of the day a
very nice lady (with the cutest baby!!) said she could take us!!
BENDECCIONES!!!! We are so blessed. The temple was so beautiful and small!!
Smallest temple I have ever been to or seen! It felt so good to be there and
the spirit was so strong!!
so
yeah got to go to the DETROIT TEMPLE. WOW
Its
amazing because I didn't think I would be able to go to the temple!
So
since we are campus sisters we get to split our p-day hours between monday and
saturday, so this last saturday we went to
DOWNTOWN
DETROIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT
WAS SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!! It has a crazy city. I love it so much. We just walked
around a ton and explored and took pictures. SO fun. We also drove past the
Detroit branch church building. There are gates surrounding the whole church!!
Thats how sketchy the area is ahhaahahah
Okay
last funny story!! haha
So
yesterday we went to a park and talked to a bunch of people. This one guy came
up to us and started talking to us. He guessed our ages and then we told him
about the Book of Mormon. He was like "Oh I have seen the movie, I
think!" he looks at me and says "Do you like movies? I could take you
to the movies some time?"
AHHHH
ALERT ALERT-- ABORT ABORT. FLIRT ALERT
He
then asked me for my instagram. awk. We quickly tried to get out of there.
hahahh so yeah I got asked out on my mission. WHAT THE.
Me
and sister watts died of laughter. My heart is locked!! Only room for Jesus!!
Anyway hahahhah It was so funny.
Spiritual:
Sorry
for all the funny stories lol here is the spiritual stuff!!
So
this week I was reading in Mosiah 14. It talks a lot of Christ and describes
his sacrifice for us. SO POWERFUL. Christ sacrificed SO much for us. He is the
best.
Challenge:
Here
are a bunch of scriptures I challenge you all to look up, read, and ponder:
1.
Mosiah 14
2.
Mosiah 16: 9
3.
Mosiah 18: 9
4.
Mosiah 24:14
5.
Alma 5: 14-15
I
love you all so much and I hope you all have a fantastic week. Stay strong, be
happy, smile all the time, look for those tender mercies, and PRAY EVERYDAY.
I
LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY
